Vaak wordt de gewenste lakkwaliteit gespecificeerd als uitkomsten van testen (volgens EN 13523) waaraan het te leveren materiaal moet voldoen.

Van groot belang is dat duidelijk is wat de beoogde toepassing is en hoe de verwerker van plan is het materiaal te verwerken.
